# Indoor Run Fixer > Indoor Run Fixer is a free online tool that corrects the distance (and speed/pace) recorded for indoor treadmill runs and indoor rides uploaded to Strava. Watch pedometers/accelerometers are often inaccurate for indoor activities; this tool lets you re-enter the true distance (as shown on your treadmill or bike) — or a constant speed — and generates a corrected FIT file to re-upload to Strava. ## How it works - Record your indoor run or ride on your watch and upload it to Strava as usual. - On a computer, open the activity on Strava, click the three dots, and export it as an original FIT file. - Upload the FIT file to Indoor Run Fixer at https://indoorrunfixer.com/, enter the correct distance (or a constant speed), and the tool recalculates distance, speed, and pace for every record in the file. - Download the corrected FIT file, delete the original activity on Strava, and upload the corrected file at https://www.strava.com/upload/select. - Supports both indoor runs and indoor rides. Distances/speeds can be entered in kilometers or miles. - FIT is the recommended export, but TCX and GPX files are accepted too, so an export that isn't FIT can still be corrected. A TCX is returned as a TCX; a GPX is returned as a TCX, because the GPX format has nowhere to record a distance. - GPS coordinates are removed from the corrected file. Strava recalculates the distance from the track when a file has one, which would override the corrected distance. Heart rate, cadence, elevation and laps are kept. ## Pages - [Home](https://indoorrunfixer.com/): Upload an activity file (FIT, TCX or GPX), review parsed stats (duration, distance, speed, pace), enter a corrected distance or constant speed, and download the fixed file. ## Notes - Indoor Run Fixer is free to use, with no account required. - The site does not permanently store uploaded files — they are removed after 30 days. - If you find the tool useful, donations are welcome via a "buy me a coffee" link at https://buymeacoffee.com/indoorrunfixer.
